Join HALOS for an evening of oysters, food, drinks, and live music by Chewbacky, all in support of Lowcountry children and the relatives and loved ones raising them.
When a child cannot safely remain with their parents, a grandparent, aunt, uncle, older sibling, or family friend may step forward to provide a stable home. HALOS helps these kinship families find guidance, resources, and connection. Your participation in the Oyster Roast helps make that support possible.
Hear from Reggie Monroe
This year, we are honored to welcome Reggie Monroe, a HALOS caregiver, to share his family’s story.
Reggie became the caregiver for his three nephews in 2017. As they built a life together, HALOS helped him connect with essentials, counseling, health care resources, and opportunities for the boys. Now approaching graduation, his nephews are looking ahead to their futures. At the Oyster Roast, Reggie will reflect on their journey and what it has meant to have a community beside them.
